Dramatic black and white works by a fabled photographer who straddled the worlds of the fashion magazine and art museum. His iconic photographs were featured in 12 books produced with famed collaborators in the literary and visual arts.

The Nassau County Museum of Art's permanent collection contains over 500 works of art representing both 19th and 20th century European and American artists. Encompassing all types of media, the collection grows through donations.

Edouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Roy Lichtenstein, Larry Rivers, Chaim Gross, Robert Rauschenberg, Moses Soyer, Robert Indiana, Auguste Rodin, Georges Braque, Alex Katz, Frederick Warren Freer and Irving Ramsey Wiles are some of the many artists included in the collection.
